Five on Friday: All About the Baby Girl

Happy Friday everyone, and thank you SO much for all of your kind words about our baby girl! I can’t wait to meet her in September, but in the meantime, I’m so glad that you’ll all be along for the journey!

1–When We Found Out

We found out that we were pregnant on January 9, 2017. I needed some fertility help because of my age (more about that in a future post), and when I went in for my blood test, I was sure that I was not pregnant. In fact, 2 days earlier, I had told my cousin that the only reason I wouldn’t be able to be in her wedding would be if I were pregnant at the very moment. Wellllllll….

2–My Reaction

Like I said, a nurse called me with the news. I was at work and was fully prepared to start discussing the next steps to try and get pregnant again…when she said, “Good news! You’re pregnant!” I’m glad I was sitting down! I said, “WHAT?! I didn’t think that I was!” And she said, “Well, you are!”

3–Telling My Husband

After getting off of the phone with the nurse, I immediately called my husband. Luckily, C was working from home that day because he had taken our pup to the vet that morning (Pup was fine BTW). C’s reaction was adorable: “Yeah! We did it!”

4–When She’s Due

Originally, we thought our little girl was due on September 21st, but the doctors believe she’s due on the 17th. It’s so fitting, since both my brother and I were born in September, and I’m glad my daughter will be born in that month (most likely), too.

5–Her Name

We’re keeping it a secret! Once we found out that we are having a girl, we were a little relieved, since C and I had a good name picked out for a girl, but we’ve been struggling with picking out a boy’s name. It’s a name that will be very meaningful to the both of us though.

More baby stuff coming on Monday!

  1. I am still so happy for you guys!!! We kept Zoe’s name a secret too, and only told close family and friends. And we had the same struggle picking a boy name, we never could settle on one which is why I just knew Zoe had to have been a girl.
