Things I Don’t Want to Forget–April

Happy Friday everyone! Today is going to be a great day because we get our anatomy ultrasound of our baby girl! Eeeek! But I have to thank Chelsea from The Girl Who Loved to Write for the idea for today’s post. I went through the pictures on my phone and wanted to make sure to mention some of these moments that I don’t want to forget.

I want to remember…

Every one of these Linus snuggles, especially when he snuggles against my belly and his baby sister…

My joy and surprise when I saw how adorable the onesies turned out at last weekend’s baby shower…

The look of this little pup snagging some sunshine…

Going through the precious baby clothes from my friends and finding gems like this…

The deliciousness of my husband’s cooking…

The happiness of a hot chocolate on a cold day…

What do you want to remember from April?

My Lust List

Happy Wednesday everyone! I’d like to thank my blogger pal Meg from My Borrowed Heaven for the idea for today’s post. Sure, there are many things that I love, but there are other items that I just, well, lust after. Will these things ever be in my possession? I sure hope so!

Michael Kors Leather Tote

via

I’m lucky enough that my cousin gave me a Michael Kors gift card as a wedding gift, so I’m part of the way towards this beautiful purse. I love me a pretty purse, but I typically don’t spend a lot of money on them. But for one this pretty…I might have to break the bank.

ASTR the Label Lace Midi Dress

via

I first saw this dress on Caitlin’s blog Southern Curls and Pearls, and it took my breath away! I can only hope that it’s still available when I’ve lost the baby weight!

HP Spectre Laptop

via

Now that I’m working for the government, everything is done with PCs and not Macs. So I know it’ll soon be time to give up my MacBook Air and purchase a PC. So why wouldn’t I want one as awesome as this?

A Trip to Italy

Italy has been on my bucket list for YEARS. Land of beauty, history and PASTA??? What could be better?

A Disney Vacation

I miss Disney World so much, and as my cousin plans her honeymoon there, I’m itching to go again. Perhaps I’ll have to wait until my little girl is ready to go.

What’s on your lust list?

Harry Potter Baby Shower!

Happy Tuesday folks! Sorry about my absence yesterday, but I was still recovering from a very busy weekend. One of the things that kept me busy was that my mom, my niece, my cousin and I threw our friends a Harry Potter-themed baby shower!

Caitlin was one of my bridesmaids, and she and her wife are having a baby in July! We don’t know if they’re having a boy or a girl, but we do know that they love Harry Potter, so we decided that was the perfect theme for the shower!

The Decorations

My cousin Kim was in charge of the decorations, and she found this great banner, which we sent home with Caitlin and her wife Susie to put in their nursery:

Kim also incorporated Gryffindor colors in the balloons and tablecloths:

My mom got in on the decorating fun and covering the cushions of the wicker chairs with baby Harry Potter fabric:

The Food

Well, we knew that Harry Potter wasn’t a typical baby shower theme, so why go with typical baby shower food? We knew that both Caitlin and Susie (and well EVERYBODY) love tacos, so we had a taco bar! In order to accommodate all the guests, my mom prepared 18 pounds of taco meat. 18 POUNDS!

In addition, my niece made 3 types of cupcakes, including Butterbeer cupcakes!

Thanks to my cousin Sveta for lending us Hermione!

The Extras

We wanted to send the gals home with lots of clothing options for the little babe, so a onesie station was in order:

And to show that she was ready to celebrate HP-style, Susie represented The Boy Who Lived with this special mark in her hair:

All in all, everyone had a great time, and we can’t wait to meet this little one in July!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday one and all! I’m linking up with these lovely ladies to share 5 great (and not so great) things about this week!

Be a Unicorn?

via

Yes, I did it. I tried the Unicorn Frappuccino. I mean, it’s so pretty and changes color! But, alas, the taste did not live up to its cute appearance. Womp womp.

Strawberry Pie? Yes Please!

via

Yesterday, April from A Smidge of This set my tastebuds soaring with this recipe for strawberry pie! I’m definitely going to make this one, especially since it’s my brother-in-law’s favorite dessert!

Babymoon Ideas

I know that C and I would like to get away for a weekend before this little gal arrives, but I’m not entirely sure where to go. I’d like it to be within driving distance and not far south, since we’ll mostly likely go during the summer, when it’s hot. Any ideas?

Almost Baby Shower Time!

Tomorrow is the baby shower for one of my bridesmaids! Two of my other bridesmaids, my mom and I are throwing the shower, and I spent all of last night running around and trying to get things ready for tomorrow. It’ll be worth it though, and I can’t wait to show you pictures next week!

And the winner is…

Nancy Loring! Congratulations on winning the giveaway! I hope you enjoy shopping, eating a yummy donut and sipping on some coffee (but not the unicorn frapp).

Have a great weekend everyone!

What’s Hap-Pinning Wednesday

Time for another edition of one of my new favorite link-ups: What’s Hap-Pinning Wednesday! Here’s what I’ve been pinning this week:

C is for Cookie

via

When reading Jenn’s post yesterday about these Low-Carb, Low-Sugar Peanut Butter Cookies, I was seriously drooling! I can’t wait to try and make these!

Getting Organized

In my dire hopes to organize our house pre-baby, I went on a pinning spree when it comes to organization. I found this pin about organizing our entire house in 10 weeks, and this pin about how to keep our home clean. Let’s hope that one of these works!

Have I Become a Rabbit?

I’m all about carrot cake this week…well, I’m always all about carrot cake. This week, I had to pin a carrot cake recipe from Mix and Match Mama. I’m hoping that this will make its way to a family barbecue this summer.

What have you been pinning lately? And don’t forget–it’s the last day for the giveaway!

Mama Monday (on a Tuesday)

Yesterday, I really wanted to make sure that I focused on my weekend, so we’re back to Mama Monday. Even thought it’s Tuesday 😉

Baby Girl is the Size of a…

pear!

What’s Going On In There?

This week, Baby Girl’s eyes are darting around behind their lids, and she can hear even more clearly!

Any Cravings?

I wanted chocolate milk something FIERCE this past two weeks! I finally had some on Saturday…it was heavenly.

Anything Making Me Sick?

Luckily, only really greasy foods are upsetting my stomach right now.

How Am I Sleeping?

I’m definitely having to get up and pee more during the night, but I think that also might have to do with the fact that other factors wake me up, and then I have to pee 🙁

What Do I Miss?

I really really REALLY want a pink drink from Starbucks, but I gave up caffeine. I wonder if they do one that’s caffeine-free…

Almost halfway to meeting my little gal!! And don’t forget about the giveaway!!!

Weekending: The One Without the Pictures

Honestly, I deserve the blogger form of a Razzie for my lack of pictures this weekend! I did so much that was so fun…and yet, nothin on my camera. So try to imagine, while I try to paint a picture with words.

Friday Night

C and I have friends who have had 3 little ones in 3 years (champions of the world!), and since their youngest is a boy and they’re not having any more kids, they asked if I wanted their girls’ baby clothes. Of course, I jumped at the chance to get some cute outfits! Y’all…she had 13 bags of clothes for me. 13 BAGS!!!!

To say that we are thankful is the understatement of the century. I started going through the clothes on Friday night and finished up Sunday. Even with some that we are giving to Goodwill (with our friends’ blessing), we still have enough to keep our baby girl in fashion for her entire first year of life!

Saturday

I started my Saturday with an appointment at the hair salon. I hadn’t gotten my hair cut or highlighted in 6 months, so I basically felt like a million bucks afterwards. Also, I wish I could hire the shampoo girl to live in my house and give me scalp massages everyday…

Next, I went to dinner with an old friend at Don Pablo’s and it was TACO TIME! Honestly, nothing makes my tummy happy like tacos and chips and salsa 🙂

Sunday

Sunday was all about Easter!!! We went to C’s aunt’s house for the annual family Easter celebration. Most of the day was quite beautiful, which is perfect for the Boys vs. Girls Scavenger Hunt and just looking at the horses and all of the acres of farmland.

P.S. The boys won the hunt this year 🙁 Apparently, the girls missed one of the clues, but I’m still super proud of our efforts, and we still won some awesome candy prizes!

I ended the night with looking through more baby clothes while watching House Hunters and Modern Family.

How was your weekend? Linking up with Biana! And don’t forget the giveaway!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday everyone! This is going to be a busy weekend for sure, so let’s start it off with one of my favorite link-ups!

1. John Cena

via

Does anyone else have dreams about John Cena? No? Just me? Okay…

2. Yummy Drinks

Bloggers have been ON POINT these past couple of weeks with delicious looking drinks! Meg from My Borrowed Heaven is making me crave all the sweet things with her Easter Candy Milkshake and S’Mores Iced Coffee, and Megan from Soup of the Day is hitting my nostalgic side and my sweet tooth at the same time with her Cereal Milkshake!

3. Weight Watchers Restaurant Guide

Without any sort of sponsorship, I’m proud to say that Weight Watchers truly helped me to lose weight. Last week, Dash of Herbs featured a blog post that gave suggestions on how to eat out at fast food restaurants using WW points! I’m really excited to start using this when I need to lose the baby weight!

4. Free Coffee Day? Not So Much.

via GIPHY

I got REALLY excited yesterday when I saw a billboard for free coffee all day at Wawa! That is, I was excited until I realized that I gave up caffeine until I have the baby. Totally worth it, but still…

5. Don’t Forget the Giveaway!

Don’t forget about the giveaway to win 3 gifts cards in honor of my 3rd blogiversary! Just complete the rafflecopter below!

Show Us Your Books: March to April

It’s time for another edition of Show Us Your Books! I haven’t been a very avid reader during the past month, but I’m working on ramping up now that Spring is here!

Life According to Steph

Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham (5 Stars)

via

I love love loved this book! First of all, listen on audiobook–it makes all the difference because Lauren Graham is so delightful! If you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, then this is an absolute must-read. Plus, as you read, if you’re anything like me, you’re going to want to become BFFs with Lauren Graham in real life. Lauren, if you’re reading this, call me!

Open When…Letters to Lift Your Spirits by Karen Salmansohn (2 Stars)

Funny, but I thought this book would be a little different. I really thought it was going to be a gift book full of envelopes with letters that I could write.  Or at the very least, I thought that there would be more in-depth letters. Instead, although the motivational notes are sweet and colorful (love the one with the picture of the unicorns), it’s a little too cliche. Oh well.

*I received this book from the Blogging for Books program in exchange for this review.*

What have you read this month?
