What’s Hap-Pinning Wednesday: 31 Weeks!

Happy Wednesday everyone! As of this past Sunday, I am 31 weeks pregnant! 9 weeks to go until I meet this baby girl! Here’s what’s hap-pinning with the pregnancy right now:

Baby Girl is the Size of a…

Football! But I’m hoping this won’t lead to any sort of Hey Arnold! football head babies.

What’s Going On In There?

She’s rockin and rolling around. She managed to turn herself from head down to breach and then back again numerous times. I just hope she gets herself head down before it’s too crowded for her to make the turn again.

Any Cravings?

Now that summer has fully kicked into gear, I’m all about ice cream and froyo!

Anything Weird Symptoms?

Reflux is still sticking around, so thank goodness for Tums. And this isn’t a symptom, but it sure it a weird feeling to have a baby hanging out in my ribs!

How Am I Sleeping?

Eh, it hasn’t been the best week for sleep. I have to get up a pee a zillion times a night, plus with life being busy, I haven’t been getting to bed as early as I’d like.

Less than 9 weeks, y’all!!!!

Mama Monday: 29 Weeks!

Happy Monday folks! Believe it or not, I’m 29 weeks into my pregnancy! Only 11 weeks until we meet our baby girl! Here’s how things are going right now:

Baby Girl is the Size of a…

Hawaiian Pineapple!

What’s Going On In There?

This week, Baby Girl’s lungs are continuing to develop so that she’ll be able to breathe deeply when she arrives. I can still feel lots of movement, especially when I’m lying on my side.

Any Cravings?

Baby Girl still wants spicy food ALL. THE. TIME. But on the flip side, all I wanted the other night was Swedish fish. Luckily, my dear husband was willing to run up to the convenience store to get some with me.

Anything Weird Symptoms?

I’m still getting reflux, but not as much. I’ve also been getting some leg cramps, and when the little gal settles into my bladder, it’s time to GO.

How Am I Sleeping?

The problem with having more energy in the evening is that I’m more tired for my early wake-up time, but I’ve been trying to get more sleep for the baby. And I love love taking a weekend nap.

What Do I Miss?

Still miss coffee and the fancy pants coffee drinks from Starbucks.

The countdown is ON!!!

Harry Potter Baby Shower!

Happy Tuesday folks! Sorry about my absence yesterday, but I was still recovering from a very busy weekend. One of the things that kept me busy was that my mom, my niece, my cousin and I threw our friends a Harry Potter-themed baby shower!

Caitlin was one of my bridesmaids, and she and her wife are having a baby in July! We don’t know if they’re having a boy or a girl, but we do know that they love Harry Potter, so we decided that was the perfect theme for the shower!

The Decorations

My cousin Kim was in charge of the decorations, and she found this great banner, which we sent home with Caitlin and her wife Susie to put in their nursery:

Kim also incorporated Gryffindor colors in the balloons and tablecloths:

My mom got in on the decorating fun and covering the cushions of the wicker chairs with baby Harry Potter fabric:

The Food

Well, we knew that Harry Potter wasn’t a typical baby shower theme, so why go with typical baby shower food? We knew that both Caitlin and Susie (and well EVERYBODY) love tacos, so we had a taco bar! In order to accommodate all the guests, my mom prepared 18 pounds of taco meat. 18 POUNDS!

In addition, my niece made 3 types of cupcakes, including Butterbeer cupcakes!

Thanks to my cousin Sveta for lending us Hermione!

The Extras

We wanted to send the gals home with lots of clothing options for the little babe, so a onesie station was in order:

And to show that she was ready to celebrate HP-style, Susie represented The Boy Who Lived with this special mark in her hair:

All in all, everyone had a great time, and we can’t wait to meet this little one in July!

It’s Gonna Be Three!

Around Super Bowl time, it’s pretty common for the name Justin Timberlake to be batted around, but mainly because of his association with the halftime show from years ago which introduced us to the term “wardrobe malfunction.”  Sidenote: I watched Katy Perry’s halftime show last night with several guys, all of whom were hoping for a wardrobe malfunction and were slightly horrified when K.P. was rather covered up when she made her fiery entrance (see what I did there, teeheehee?)

But this particular Super Bowl weekend, Justin Timberlake won the hearts of women across the world by (finally) confirming that his wife is pregnant is just about the most adorable way possible:

Underneath this Instagram photo, Timberlake wrote about his excitement for the new baby.  Women swooned and wished they were Jessica Biel.  Seriously, when she was playing Mary Camden on 7th Heaven, did she think that she would be having the baby of one of the world’s most famous pop stars?
Congratulations to the happy couple!  And please please PLEASE don’t name your child after some food product.
